The Importance of Tracking Your Financial Accounts
When you realize you’ve lost your wallet or that your purse has been stolen containing all your credit cards and personal identification, what is your reaction?
You panic.
Time is of the essence in terms of reporting your lost or stolen credit cards, checkbooks, etc. And trying to put together all of your account numbers, account types and toll-free numbers to call when you are in a state of panic is not going to help you beat the clock.
Make a list of ALL your financial accounts that can be fraudently used by someone else. Mark down the name of the financial institution, the account type (such as credit card or checking account), the account number and the toll-free telephone number to call in case of lost or stolen cards.
Take some time to make a list of all your financial accounts such as:
- Checking Accounts
- Savings Accounts
- Debit Card Accounts
- Credit Card Accounts
